Fall and Halloween

Jacob's version of helping rake the leaves.

Jacob was Batman for Halloween this year. Chesney had a matching costume as well. :) Posing in hunting gear with the halloween yard decorations. That cat was pretty lucky Jacob didn't shoot him down!

These pictures are from his school party and costume parade.

Hunting Season

Jacob has been really excited about hunting season. He's now got the full outfit and toy rifle. And is talking constantly about going hunting in Kansas.

Friends

Jacob and Cameron have been friends since they could barely walk. Both are turning 5 this year and looking like they will be fellow trouble makers for many years to come!

Annual trip to Little Squaw

The Simpsons made the annual trek to Little Squaw this summer in late July. (Joined by Grandma Kay & Larry Simpson, Papa, Nana, Kelsey and me.) Jacob had been looking forward to the trip for weeks.... excited about fishing, four-wheeling, and getting dirty. As usual, the two weeks went by far too quickly, and now that its over we're all looking forward to next year. The video below is the first of several posts to follow. Enjoy this one for now!

T-Ball

Jacob played T-ball this spring and had a blast. He seems to like playing baseball a lot more than soccer. Maybe that's because he's really good at it.

Getting ready for the next batter. The team name was the Pirates, so of course there is an "ARRRRRRGGGGG!!!!" that goes along with this stance.

Playing shortstop and making the throw to first base.

Playing defense was always a rush by the players to be the first one to the ball. This usually turned into a wrestling match between several of the boys.

Jacob was hands-down the best hitter on the team. He goes up to bat each time to "hit the crap out of it!" Almost every hit made its way into the outfield.

Sliding into homebase. He's got the slide down, its just actually getting to the base that needs a little practice.

Its hard to tell where the ball goes in this video, but you can tell by the time Jacob makes it to the base where the ball is being thrown in from. :)

Another video, this one of Jacob rounding third and making the slide into home.
